I. Screening for new members. The editorial exams are held in the entire month of June to accommodate Gazette hopefuls based on their availability. An extensive selection is held and there are panelists ready to interview those aspiring for editorial posts. New member can vie for higher position since it is a free-for-all examination. The screening covers the following:
a. News Writing
b. Sports Writing
c. Educational Writing
d. Feature Writing
e. Editorial Cartooning
f. Photo Journalism
II. Past members are not exempted from taking the exams.
III. Successful examinees undergo the basic journalism workshop advance journalism training.
IV. Workshops are scheduled every weekend for each subject area.
