Vision

The College of Radiologic Technology envisions itself to be the center of excellence in radiologic technology education in the province of Quezon.

Mission

It is the mission of the College of Radiologic Technology to produce dynamic, competent, socially-conscious Radiologic Technologists equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary in the utilization of scientific techniques and procedures in medical imaging, as well as in therapeutic and research purposes contributing to the overall social, mental, and physical health of the community and its environs.

Description

Radiologic Technology is a profession primarily involved in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases utilizing medical imaging modalities. The program is intended to prepare students for computed tomography technologists, radiation therapy technologists in hospitals, clinics, cancer centers, community health agencies and possibly in educational institutions as health educators. A graduate of this program is a member of the health care team who works unswervingly with the patient and the physician in executing a broad variety of diagnostic, therapeutic and intervention procedures. The program also tends to instill students good values, dedication to the profession, compassion and concern to all members of the general public.

Objectives of the Radiologic Technology Clinical Education Training program (excerpt from CMO No. 18 s.2006):

The program aims to provide a venue for the students to:

a. Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and radiographic techniques to accurately demonstrate anatomic structures of interest;
b. Develop skills in establishing exposure factors and evaluating radiographic images;
c. Enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the application of the principles of radiation protection as well as the laws and regulations governing the application of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation in medicine;
d. Develop competence in exercising independent judgment and discretion in the technical performance of medical imaging and therapeutic procedures; and
e. Develop critical thinking skills and appreciation of the technological advancement in the field of radiologic sciences through research and continuing education.
