The flame is starting to get hotter as all eyes are now on the upcoming fête for the 35th Foundation Anniversary of Calayan Educational Foundation, Inc. With this year’s theme, Running on Overdrive: CEFI at 35, various programs, activities, and promotional stints are expected to liven up the much awaited celebration come February 28 and 29. Mr. Michael Harold Pagsuyuin, the over-all chairman for this year, had put up a repertoire that would engage everyone from the young ones to the young at hearts. An Open House in the Basic Education department on February 26 is set to serve as kick-off activity where parents may observe classes in the department. However, the day after is when the fun will really start as booths by different clubs and organizations as well as known business establishments will be installed along the covered walk. A Thanksgiving dinner for the employees will also be held on that day together with the ceremonial lighting of 35 lanterns as the pinnacle event. Game shows, academic contests, movie marathon, battle of the bands and Ms. CEFI are some of the other activities to perk up the festivity. An Alternative Classroom Experience (ACE) will also be held during the last day of the celebration. This is a concept wherein various non-academic classes will be held and students can register in any of them. Topics and subjects that range from the common like baking, cooking, basic guitar session up to the bizarre like belly dancing and basic nail polishing could be offered during the event. The working committee chairpersons to support the efforts and ideals of Pagsuyuin are the following: Mr. Joel delos Santos (Thanksgiving Dinner); Mr. Mario Salvanera (Eucharistic Celebration); Mr. Roberto Abel (Motorcade); Mr. Elmer Veracruz (Opening Program); Ms. Genecille Aguirre (Game Show); Mrs. Cristina Rosas (Academic Quiz Show); Ms. Aisa Garcia (Movie Marathon); Ms. Karen Rivere (ACE); Mr. Russel Cadiz (Booth Fair); Mr. Nelson Hugo (College Night and Battle of the Bands); Mr. Simon Louis Errol E.
